Who we are
Collateral Medical is a Mumbai-based medical technology company building regulated home-use therapeutic devices for chronic skin conditions. We are incubated at SINE, IIT Bombay, and founded by a team of clinicians, engineers, and design researchers who believe that the gap between a proven treatment and a patient who needs it should not be a geography problem.
The problem we are solving
Over 50 million Indians live with vitiligo. Narrowband UVB phototherapy achieves 80% skin clearance in clinical trials — yet the vast majority of patients never access it. Treatment requires 2 to 3 clinic visits per week for 3 to 6 months. Dermatology clinics are concentrated in a handful of metros. For most of India, this schedule is simply not possible.
The result: a proven, safe, non-pharmacological treatment sits out of reach for the people who need it most.
What UVThera does
UVThera is a clinician-prescribed, home-use narrowband UVB phototherapy system. It consists of a precision UV wand and an intelligent companion app that together bring the full clinical phototherapy experience out of the hospital and into the patient's home.
