UV therapy that
actually doses
your skin.

UVThera delivers clinically precise 308nm and 311nm UV light for vitiligo, psoriasis, and eczema — the same wavelengths used in leading dermatology clinics, now for your home and practice.

Why UVThera is different

Most UV devices time.
UVThera doses.

This is not a minor technical distinction. It is the difference between consistent clinical outcomes and unpredictable results.

Timer-based devices

30 seconds today ≠ 30 seconds in 6 months

A UV tube loses output gradually — around 20% by 1,000 hours. A timer has no way to know this. Your patient receives progressively less therapy as the tube ages, with no indication that the dose has dropped.

Actual UV output varies — but the timer still says 30 seconds.

VS
UVThera dosimetry

Every session delivers exactly what was prescribed

UVThera measures actual UV output at every session using a calibrated photodiode. If tube output drops, the session runs longer to compensate. Your patient always receives the prescribed dose in mJ/cm².

Dose measured and confirmed. Every session. Automatically.

Scientific advisory

"Phototherapy works only when the dose is delivered precisely and the protocol is followed consistently. What I appreciate about UVThera is that it solves both problems — calibrated dose delivery in the device, and a session log my patients and I can actually trust."

Common questions

Answered honestly.

Do I need a prescription to buy UVThera? +
UVThera Basic and Pro can be purchased without a prescription. However, we strongly recommend consulting a dermatologist before starting UV therapy — your doctor can determine the right starting dose for your skin type and condition.
What is the difference between Basic and Pro? +
The key difference is dosimetry. UVThera Basic uses a timer. UVThera Pro measures actual UV output using a photodiode and delivers a precise dose in mJ/cm². As your tube ages, Pro automatically extends sessions to maintain your prescribed dose.
What is 308nm vs 311nm? +
Both are clinically validated for vitiligo and psoriasis. 308nm (Clinical console) shows faster initial repigmentation for targeted spot treatment. 311nm (home devices) has decades of evidence for NB-UVB home phototherapy and is equally effective over a full treatment course.
How long before I see results? +
For vitiligo, most patients see initial repigmentation at 6–12 weeks with consistent treatment (3–5 sessions per week). Significant repigmentation typically takes 3–6 months. Psoriasis typically responds faster — many patients see improvement within 4–6 weeks.
Is home UV therapy safe? +
311nm NB-UVB phototherapy has an excellent safety profile with over 30 years of clinical evidence. UVThera devices include UV-blocking quartz windows, safety cutoffs, dose limits, and eye protection guidelines in the IFU.
When should I replace the Phillips tube? +
UVThera Pro tracks lamp hours automatically and alerts you when replacement is approaching (typically at 1,000 hours). The app sends a notification and you can order a replacement tube directly. UVThera Basic recommends replacement at 12–18 months.
